Why I Offer a Free & Paid Membership Blog
My goal with Marble and Mud is to create quality and exclusive content without having to scroll through ads, upon ads, upon ads.
You know what I’m talking about, you just want to find the information you’re looking for and get back to doing whatever it was you were doing.
How is that possible in under 5 min if you must come at each blog you visit with a chainsaw ready to tackle endless ads and unnecessary word clutter. I don’t need to read anyone’s back story about that one super awesome vacation to the mountains and the lead up as to why their Apple Crisp is the best there is. Just tell me the ingredients & instructions and I’ll be on my way.
I also give zero fucks about leaving a blog if there is more than 1 ad between me and the information I am seeking. I get it, most bloggers are out there to make money, myself included. However, there has to be a better way.
The other day I found a blog post that literally had an ad, the SAME ad, after every single paragraph. It was madness. Needless to say I didn’t make it very long on that site and I made a mental note to not return.

You will never find an ad on my Blog. I have never tried to monetize any of my previous blogs through ads and while I am not knocking those who do, I‘m sure it can be done tastefully. It is just not for me.
What I wanted to offer with Marble and Mud was something more…
I want to offer community, mentorship, knowledge and guidance. I want somewhere I can write freely but also be compensated for my time and energy.
Creating a blogging model with free & paid subscription options gives those who want to have access to my content a choice. They can read what I offer anonymously, if they would like to comment they must become at least a free member and if they’re interested in the artistic creations I put forth, they can choose to subscribe as a paid member.
As a paid member you have access to a growing community with quality content including all articles delivered directly to your email as well as a monthly newsletter and ALL printables, ebooks and future courses. This method allows me to design, create and deliver content to the Marble and Mud community without making it available to the entire internet. It allows me to direct my energy where it’s needed most. It provides you with specific exclusive content that you can trust, community with like-minded people, and a spot where you can get short but in-depth answers about all things Homesteading, Spirituality and Holistic Living.
No more bouncing from blog to blog trying to dodge the incessant ads.
Ok, so what’s to stop people from looking elsewhere for the information they wish to consume? The internet is FULL of content creators and so much journalism is available for less or free, and that is ok.
I believe there is a group of people out there who want more. More bang for their buck. I’d rather pay a small fee the equivalent of a coffee or two in exchange for not having to spend countless hours scrolling Pinterest, social media and ad ridden blogs looking for the answer or consumable I need and I can bet you would too!
